Hanna Maria has been collaborating on "The
Voyage" with its creator, her father Jan Sawka, since 1993.
She has written the narrative according to which Jan Sawka has
created the 1200 images. She will be responsible for editing the
images and for overseeing the sound design for the piece.
Project Description:
The Voyage is a ninety-minute multi-media Spectacle
by internationally renowned American artist Jan Sawka. This powerful
visual journey is greatly influenced by the multi-cultural openness
Mr. Sawka experienced in America as an exile from Communist Poland.
The striking visual images are accompanied by the music of award-winning
composer Czes?aw Niemen who incorporated elements of American
rock, blues, and popular music into the soundtrack. The Voyage
celebrates humanity in all of its diversity and portrays the unity,
which connects all religions and cultures around the world.
The Voyage will be produced at concert venues throughout Europe,
Asia and the United States and will offer audience members an
innovative, state-of-the-art, multi-media experience projected
on large screens using specially designed lighting and sound techniques
developed by the Japanese group Toho Studios of Akira Kurosawa
fame. This innovative technology, specifically developed for The
Voyage, will make every viewer feel that he is literally inside
the spectacle. The spectacle’s visual nature and rich musical
character do not require translating or adjustment for different
countries and markets, making the Voyage an attractive and accessible
artistic experience to people on many continents.
