Recently, filmmaker Hanna Sawka visited FilmColumbia, where "Beyond Iconic" screened last year.  She took part in a panel on filmmaking in the Hudson Valley ("Beyond Iconic" was made entirely within the Hudson Valley). It's an honor to have Beyond Iconic: Photographer Dennis Stock participate in what, according to Chronogram Magazine, is Film Columbia's selection of just over "25 top flight independent and foreign films, with plenty of star power from major studio releases, too.  Over the course of its 14-year history, industry insiders say that Film Columbia has become the best small film festival on the East Coast. A 10-minute piece created from "Beyond Iconic" material will participate in the "On Photography" Film Festival, part of Amsterdam FOTOWEEK, on September 29th.  Line-up details here:  http://www.opfestival.nl/#develop

 

Beyond Iconic has been selected to participate in this year's edition of the FilmColumbia festival in Chatham, NY! FilmColumbia's films are programmed by festival executive director Peter Biskind (a contributing editor at Vanity Fair, past executive editor of Premiere Magazine, and film historian), former senior curator for film and media at MoMA, Laurence Kardish, and festival director Calliope Nicholas. "Beyond Iconic" screens on Friday, Oct. 25th at 3:30 at the Morris Center in Chatham, N.Y. Tickets will be available soon at http://www.filmcolumbia.org.

Sunday, April 21st, a 5-person jazz ensemble concert featuring score composers Teri Roiger and John Menegon and score musicians Rebecca Coupe-Franks, Mark Dziuba and Tani Tabal took place at the Rosendale Cafe in Rosendale, NY.   Music and songs from the score were performed live to a packed house.
